AHA Instructor Course

Approximately a 16 hour course designed to train current American Heart Association CPR/AED Providers to become AHA Instructors.  The course consists of approximately 8 hours of individual on-line study (Core Instructor Course) and an additional 8 hours of classroom training and practice.  Students are also required to observe a minimum of two AHA courses (in the discipline they wish to teach) and be observed/monitored teaching a course on their own.  Successful completion of all required course components together with successful monitoring results in Instructor Certification for a period of two years.  In order to maintain instructor status, instructors must be aligned with an AHA training center and teach a minimum of two AHA courses per year for the two year certification period.  At the end of each certification period, the instructor’s training center will monitored the instructor teaching a course to determine his or her renewal status.
