AED MEDICAL DIRECTION/OVERSIGHT PROGRAM
Medical direction is an important and most often necessary component of any Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) Program. Medical direction ensures that the PAD program is being conducted in accordance with each state’s laws and regulations and helps protect you and your business from liability under the Good Samaritan Law.
The Medical Direction/Oversight Program includes the following items:

- Providing an AED medical prescription (required by federal law).
- Assisting with registering the AED(s) with the applicable state agencies (i.e. MIEMSS, DC Fire and EMS)
- Providing an AED Implementation Plan.
- Providing an on-site staff medical director who is available for consultation.
- Template to use to develop your company's Medical Emergency Response Plan.
- Review of response documentation and rescue data for all uses of the AED to include assistance with the downloading of patient data for medical review and reporting.
- Overseeing of the initial and continuing AED/CPR training.
- Provide advice regarding the medical care of those in need of such care after an incident.
- Critical Incident & Stress Management services are available by Rescue One if needed in the event of an AED use.
- Rescue One's AED web-based AED Management and Tracking program will be used to maintain records of training, product and supply expiration dates, and other information pertinent to your AED program.
The prescription is a standing order from a medical doctor that authorizes trained individuals to utilize an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), in conjunction with CPR, to assist in resuscitation of a victim who is in cardiac arrest.
