AHA PALS Instructor Course

As a pediatric health care provider, you have probably undertaken the Pediatric Advanced Life Support course with the American Heart Association (AHA). This course equips you with the necessary skills to efficiently and effectively handle any pediatric emergency that may arise. If you are passionate about impacting medical knowledge to other practitioners, the AHA PALS instructor course provides you with the required skills as an instructor. To qualify for this course, you must be a practicing AHA provider with proficiency in BLS, ACLS, PALS, Heartsaver, and PEARS. You must also have undertaken first aid training and a PALS course. Once you have completed the required online and classroom course essentials, you will be monitored teaching your first course. The observed practice should happen within six months after finishing the course. If need be, further monitoring may be recommended by your training center coordinators. During the observed practice, you are expected to demonstrate your teaching skills and your understanding of the course material.

As an instructor, you will receive all the necessary resources and support to ensure that you deliver the best in your training. To get started, all you need to do is to locate a training center in your area and fill in a trainer candidate application. Once you have undergone the training successfully, you will receive the AHA PALS Instructor card that is valid for two years.
