ACLS Initial (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Initially, approximately a 14 – 16 hour course designed for healthcare providers who direct or participate in the advanced life support resuscitation of a patient, in or out of the hospital. Course work focuses on the identification and treatment of medical conditions contributing to cardiac arrest; treatment choices for arrest and peri-arrest patients; BLS adult CPR techniques; recognition of algorithms; interpretation of arrhythmias and appropriate ACLS drug therapy. Course cost includes the Student Provider Manual, which is shipped to the student upon prepayment. Students must take and pass (70% passing score) a pre-course self-assessment prior to class. Proof of completion is required on the first day of class. Upon successful course completion, with a passing score on the written exam, and successful Megacode skills evaluations, students receive an AHA ACLS Provider certification card valid for two years. (Note: All ACLS students should have current BLS Provider certification. BLS certification is not included in this course.)

ACLS Renewal (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

 

ACLS – Blended Online Learning with Classroom Skills

This is a blended learning course for ACLS Provider certification. It consists of an online didactic learning and testing portion – PART 1 (approximately 6 – 14 hours); and a classroom skills session – PART 2 (approximately 2 hours). Referred to as “Heartcode ACLS”, the online portion of the course is accessed by entering a “key code” on the AHA student website. After completing the online course, students enroll in PART 2 and attend a classroom skills check session, testing practical skills for: Adult single rescuer CPR and AED use; Airway management; Megacode testing. Upon successful completion of these classroom skills, students will receive an AHA ACLS Provider certification card, valid for two years. Note: This course is designed for renewal students only.
